Nevertheless, a frustrating bug is hindering these players from accessing golden weapons; they receive an error message stating: “You don’t have enough points to purchase this item,” rendering their efforts seemingly futile.
Understanding the golden weapons bug
Currently, players are facing difficulties using their comp points to acquire golden weapons in Overwatch 2. This issue stems from a bug that fails to acknowledge the total comp points earned, resulting in the error message, “You don’t have enough points to purchase this item.”
Reports indicate that this issue affects multiple heroes, including Widowmaker, Mercy, and Sombra, confirming that it is a widespread concern among players.
On a positive note, several users have mentioned that Jade weapons do not present the same problem, allowing players to unlock them without encountering any errors, provided they have the necessary points.
Interestingly, the golden weapon bug is not a new phenomenon; just five months ago, players flocked to Reddit and Steam to express their frustration over not being able to purchase golden guns despite having enough points. Fortunately, Blizzard managed to implement a fix, and the issue was eventually resolved.
