In the dynamic world of Destiny 2, Warlocks are enjoying a resurgence with powerful builds introduced in Episode Revenant. These enhancements stem from significant buffs to various Exotics and previously underwhelming Supers.
One standout development is the revamping of Roaming Supers, which has rendered Stormtrance a viable option, especially when combined with the Exotic pulse rifle, Bad Juju. Once overlooked following Bungie’s reduction of its capabilities during the Season of the Drifter, Bad Juju now shines as a pivotal component of an effective build.
A notable asset in this new wave of Warlock builds is the Skull of Dire Ahamkara, which has seen a revival following its rework in Revenant. This Exotic helmet is instrumental for creating an endless barrage of Nova Bombs. Let’s delve into how to maximize its potential.
The Skull of Dire Ahamkara Build
To transform your Warlock into a Nova Bomb-spamming juggernaut, three essential elements are needed: the Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Bad Juju, and the Prismatic aspect.
The Light and Darkness subclass introduced in The Final Shape becomes crucial when utilizing the Feed the Void aspect, which activates Devour upon eliminating an enemy with any ability. This buff is vital for unleashing the capabilities of the Skull of Dire Ahamkara’s Actual Grandeur perk.
Equipping this helmet means that every foe defeated while Devour is active contributes to Super energy regeneration, including final blows with the Nova Bomb itself. Remarkably, sustaining enough kills can refund nearly half of your entire Super energy bar.

Bad Juju, Skull of Dire Ahamkara, and Prismatic are the three key components of this build.
While this combination forms a solid groundwork, the damage output escalates when you introduce Bad Juju. Its Exotic perk, String of Curses, amplifies this setup by ensuring that every kill while the perk is active grants a boost to Super energy. Furthermore, it sustains Devour and complements Actual Grandeur, resulting in an exceptionally swift recharge for Nova Bomb.
Testing this build in Europa’s Perdition Lost Sector produced impressive outcomes: I could recharge Nova Bomb consistently before clearing the first wave of enemies, quickly regaining half my Super charge in the second room after deploying it.
However, it’s important to note that the refund of Super energy correlates with the number of kills rather than overall damage. Consequently, employing Nova Bomb against bosses may lead to longer recharge times. To counteract this, consider integrating Transcendence-enhancing Fragments such as Facet of Grace to improve your neutral game.
