Unstoppable MW3 weapon wreaks havoc in hardcore after Trophy System nerf

Ever since Trophy Systems were nerfed in Season 3 Reloaded, one particular MW3 weapon has been causing chaos in hardcore game modes, as its biggest counters have been significantly weakened.

In Call of Duty, Hardcore has been a well-established modifier for a long time, decreasing health and restricting certain HUD elements. This feature acts as an equalizer, granting all weapons a high level of potency due to its quick TTK, with most guns being able to eliminate enemies with just one shot.

Nevertheless, the RGL-80 continues to dominate in hardcore battles. Fans of Modern Warfare 3 have been vocal about its overpowered status, and a recent decrease in the effectiveness of the Trophy System has only heightened its dominance.

The RGL-80 grenade launcher is highly effective in hardcore mode as it can eliminate multiple enemies with a single shot. Even if the first hit is absorbed, the weapon’s rapid fire rate leaves little chance for escape before the subsequent shots seal the deal.

Prior to the release of Season 3 Reloaded, players were able to use a Trophy System to reduce its effects. The first three shots fired at you would be intercepted by the Trophy System, providing you with ample opportunity to retaliate.

Although Trophy Systems used to be effective in countering the RGL-80, Season 3 Reloaded brought a heavy nerf to their effectiveness by reducing the total number of shots from 3 to 2. This change has made the RGL-80 even more dominant in gameplay.

The recent change has caused frustration among MW3 players, who are now urging Sledgehammer to address the issue. In a highly upvoted Reddit thread, one user stated, “Something must be done about the RGL in Hardcore Modes,”and went on to claim that the RGL-80 “completely ruins

The most effective method for countering the RGL-80 is to utilize Trophy Systems and equip EOD Padding until a change is implemented. While this does not completely eliminate the grenade launcher’s deadly capabilities, it does significantly decrease its effectiveness.
