As the release date for Studio WIT’s newest production draws near, people are taking notice of what My Deer Friend Nokotan is doing.
In case you are not familiar, the highly anticipated anime My Deer Friend Nokotan centers around a horned elk-girl who transfers to a new school, and the close-knit group of friends who come to appreciate her peculiar quirks. It is a delightful comedy that has the potential to be one of the top anime of the year, as long as the execution lives up to the premise.
Despite its peculiarity, it is fitting that the social media buzz surrounding it has been somewhat chaotic. The trailer, for example, poses the question, “Why are humans not deer?”while consistently showcasing the lifelike deer featured in the show, for unknown reasons.
Fortunately, for those who enjoyed the music in the teaser, they will be pleased to know that the opening has been transformed into a continuous hour-long loop. Throughout the entire performance, Torako Koshi gracefully dances in front of a deer, who appears to be only mildly interested. It truly is an impressive sight.

He has previously worked on popular series such as Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! and Gabriel DropOut, among others.
One could argue that this joke is specifically for his deer companions. Let’s face it, it’s quite humorous.
