It has been announced by Asus that a new black version of the Asus ROG Ally handheld will be released today.
According to an announcement from Asus, a refreshed model of the Asus ROG Ally is set to release later today. The unveiling of the new hardware will take place in a YouTube livestream hosted by Jake and Whitson of the ROG Global YouTube channel.
The recently released Asus ROG Ally is not the speculated Asus ROG Ally 2, but rather an updated and enhanced version of the device. It was initially seen in a picture shared on the official Asus ROG social media pages, featuring a redesigned black model of the Ally handheld alongside the original white Version 1 models.
Although the new Asus ROG Ally has only been glimpsed in silhouettes thus far, there are some notable differences from its predecessor. While the main exterior design remains largely unchanged, the bottom edge has been rounded, possibly in response to concerns regarding ergonomics.
It is anticipated that there will be no significant improvements in technical specifications, as the new Asus ROG Ally will utilize the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU as the original model.
Customers are anticipating enhancements to the display, as well as a bigger battery and a resolution to the ongoing issues with the Micro SD card. We have yet to see what other updates and modifications Asus will incorporate into the new version.
