Valorant devs rush to disable Split in light of game-breaking bug

Riot Games, the developers of Valorant, have quickly disabled the map Split in multiple game modes due to a severe bug that was causing gameplay issues.

The developers of Valorant have stated that they had to disable the map Split due to an exploit that was discovered. This exploit, which was shared on Twitter by Valorant Intel, enabled players to access a previously inaccessible ledge on the A site. As a result, the map has been temporarily removed from all game modes, including Swiftplay, Competitive, Unrated, Spike Rush, and Premier.

The developers have stated that a solution will be implemented in the upcoming Patch 8.08, but until then, Split will only be accessible in Deathmatch and Escalation modes.

In addition, the issue with Cypher’s Trapwires being visible on the minimap of teammates even after his death was also noted. However, the developers did not consider this bug severe enough to warrant disabling him completely, as they have done with Split.

The map originally scheduled for this week’s Premier was Split, but the developers have replaced it with Ascent. Additionally, Split has been excluded from the map selection and ban phase for the Premier Playoffs on Sunday.

This indicates that players will not be able to access Split until the release of Patch 8.08, but there is currently no confirmed date for when this update will be launched.
