After three years of being together, the couple is finally tying the knot, and their romantic proposal was broadcasted nationwide, causing hearts to flutter.
It was announced on August 26 that former EXO member Tao will be marrying his long-time girlfriend Xu Yiyang, whom he has been in a relationship with since 2021.
The male idol announced this joyous news in a delayed manner, by proposing publicly during the filming of his variety show “Dare or Not,”in which Yiyang was also a part of the cast.
Surrounded by a magnificent display of pink flowers and delicate petals, Tao donned a white suit as he tearfully pledged his love and commitment to his fiancée.

He tearfully stated:

Just one month after publicly announcing their relationship, Tao and Yiyang surprised everyone with a marriage proposal. The couple shared the news through an official photoshoot, where they were seen holding hands and sharing a romantic kiss on the beach at sunset.
Despite the general public’s positive reaction to the news, it did not come as a surprise to fans. Since 2020, Tao and Xu Yiyang have been the subject of numerous dating rumors, which they have consistently denied.
Despite frequently being seen together eating and traveling, their relationship was initially perceived as a standard senior-junior dynamic. However, when Tao’s variety show launched, the couple officially announced their romantic involvement.
In terms of their initial encounter, Tao first made his debut as part of EXO in Korea in 2012. However, he departed from the group in 2015 and started pursuing opportunities in China.
Despite starting her career as a trainee at SM Entertainment in 2014 and gaining recognition as a member of SM Rookies in 2016, Xu Yiyang ultimately left the agency and began working in China before the supposed debut of her group aespa in 2020.
The couple’s relationship strengthened when Yiyang joined Tao’s agency as an artist. The male icon also revealed that his love for the female star deepened when she stood by his side in 2020 during the difficult period after he lost his father.
In light of this, there is speculation that Tao’s public proposal indicates that their marriage might happen this year or the following year.
