Pinkchyu’s Twitch Ban Raises Questions About VTuber Policies
Renowned cosplayer and streamer Pinkchyu faced a setback on Twitch just as she made her highly anticipated debut as a VTuber. This incident has only intensified the ongoing frustrations many in the VTuber community feel regarding the platform’s stringent policies.
On November 7, Pinkchyu celebrated what she hoped would be a successful return to streaming as a VTuber. However, shortly after launching her debut stream, she was met with a shocking ban, prompting concerns about her ability to fully embrace the virtual streaming space. “I do a VTuber stream finally and this happens,”she expressed on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing her dismay.
Pinkchyu suspects that the reason for her seven-day suspension may stem from how her virtual model appeared during the stream. Specifically, the head of her avatar was cropped out of the camera view, leading her to think the focus on her character’s chest might be to blame. “I have large breasts IRL, so I’m not sure if that’s it,”she explained in a follow-up post. This incident marks her first ban after five years in the streaming arena.
I had a vtuber chatting stream and camera with my head cut off just like a lot of other vtubers. I have large breasts irl so I’m not sure if that’s it. But it’s a 7 day suspension. After 5 years of streaming this is my first ban, and of course it’s me coming back to vtubing!!!

In light of this disappointing development, Pinkchyu has rescheduled her VTuber debut to December 7. This postponement has stirred debate among her fans, raising critical questions about Twitch’s content guidelines and their application in the ever-evolving landscape of vtuber streaming.
According to Twitch’s Community Guidelines, content that emphasizes “clothed intimate body parts such as the buttocks, groin, or breasts for extended periods” is prohibited. Although it remains unclear if Pinkchyu’s ban directly relates to these rules, Twitch’s regulations have previously incited backlash within the VTuber community.
In fact, just last month, Twitch clarified a rule that stipulated all VTuber models must be appropriately covered, placing particular emphasis on the hip area. This announcement prompted outcry from creators who argued that compliance would necessitate costly redesigns of their avatars to avoid potential bans.

Despite the uproar, Twitch maintains that no new rules have been implemented; rather, they have endeavored to clarify existing guidelines to alleviate confusion. “We just shared more examples of behaviors that violate our rules, making it easier for everyone to adhere to them and minimizing the chances of unintentional infractions,”a representative stated.
The implications of this incident extend beyond Pinkchyu, as it highlights the broader challenges facing VTubers on Twitch. As the community continues to navigate the platform’s regulations, many are left wondering how they can maintain creative freedom while adhering to increasingly restrictive policies.
