WAKEONE has addressed reports stating that Kep1er would disband in July.
Despite being a temporary project group, fans of Kep1er are fully aware of the group’s contractual terms. As the members were formed through a survival show, fans have been dreading the inevitable disbandment of the group. When news broke of the group’s dissolution in July, Kep1ians (the fandom) understandably expressed their disappointment.

WAKEONE Responds to Rumors of Kep1er’s Contract Expiring in July
The Kep1er agency has announced that they are currently in discussions to expand their activities, in response to reports of the group potentially disbanding.
On April 25, 2024, a spokesperson from WAKEONE, exclusively spoke with South Korean media outlet Ilgan Sports.
They stated in their statement that they are currently in talks for a potential contract extension with both the members and their agencies, indicating that their disbandment in July is not yet definite.
“We are currently discussion with each member and their respective agencies regarding the extension of Kep1er’s project activities.”
The media was also informed that Kep1er is currently getting ready to release a new album.
Despite an earlier report from a media outlet stating that Kep1er would disband due to unsuccessful contract negotiations by the end of July, the agency’s recent statement of being “in discussions”has shifted attention towards their upcoming activities and the possibility of the girl group disbanding.
The project group Kep1er was created during the Mnet audition program “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga”with the goal of debuting as a collaborative girl group in South Korea, China, and Japan.
The team is comprised of nine individuals in total: Choi Yujin, Shen Xiaoting, Mashiro Sakamoto, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru Ezaki, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun, and Kang Yeseo.
As per your request, Kep1er Mashiro and Shen Xiaoting share the names of the most beautiful K-pop idols they have seen on music shows.
Additionally, Kep1er’s highly anticipated debut album, “Kep1going,”is scheduled to be released in Japan on May 8, 2024.
Kep1er’s Recent Activities
In January 2024, it was reported that discussions were underway to renew Kep1er’s contracts, which are scheduled to end on July 3, 2024.

Kep1er successfully kicked off their second Japanese concert tour, titled “Kep1er Japan Concert Tour 2024, ‘Fly-High,’”with performances at the Makuhari Event Hall in Chiba on February 23-24, 2024 and the Kobe World Memorial Hall in Kobe on March 2-3.
The release date for “Kep1going,”their first Japanese studio album, is set for May 8. The music video for the album’s title track, “Straight Line,”was revealed on April 23, 2024.
