In response to the widespread demand for changes to the overpowered Renetti pistol that had dominated the game since Season 3, the Warzone developers announced a nerf to be implemented on April 9. Shortly after, they released an update to address the community’s concerns.
Since the Season 3 update of Warzone, players have continuously pleaded with the developers to address the dominance of the Renetti Pistol in close-range combat, mainly due to its powerful JAK Ferocrity Carbine Kit. Finally, on April 10th, the developers have responded with a significant nerf to the Renetti.
The Call of Duty team shared the details of the Renetti nerf through an X post, and as of April 10, here are all the changes made to the JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit in Warzone.
- The maximum damage has been reduced from 36 to 28.
- The minimum damage has been reduced to 24, a decrease from its previous value of 28.
- The maximum damage range has been reduced to 12.44 meters, a decrease from 17.52.
- The Lower Torso Multiplier has been raised to 1.1x from its previous value of 1.
- The Arms and Hand Multiplier has been raised to 1.1x, a increase from its previous value of 1.

The JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit is highly effective in turning the Renetti into a formidable combination of a pistol and an SMG, making it the top choice for close-quarters combat on Rebirth Island in Warzone.
Despite this, the Renetti’s reign as the dominant close-range weapon may soon come to an end with the implementation of these nerfs. These changes are anticipated to create more opportunities for other short-range weapon choices. Up until now, the HRM-9 was the only contender capable of rivaling the Renetti’s strength, despite its high damage and fire rate. However, it was still outmatched by the Renetti’s hybrid build.
The impact of the nerf on the Pistol’s effectiveness is still uncertain. It is yet to be determined if the nerf will be substantial enough to remove the Pistol from the Season 3 meta and potentially make way for one of the game’s SMGs.
