Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch its inaugural major season shortly, introducing an array of new maps, weapons, and features. Interestingly, along with Black Ops 7, Warzone is also entering a significant phase with the debut of its Season 01. This fresh season will come packed with new gear, Perks, expanded maps, and much more.
While this particular season is dubbed Season 01, Warzone has been consistently evolving with new content for years. Activision continues to innovate and introduce exciting elements, including highly anticipated weapons and gameplay updates. Now that Warzone is formally linked with Black Ops 7, players can look forward to an exciting array of enhancements. Below is a comprehensive overview of what’s in store for Warzone during Season 01.
Release Date
According to the Call of Duty blog, Warzone Season 01 is scheduled for release on December 4, allowing players to gear up for a wave of new content that coincides with the launch of Black Ops 7.
Features in Warzone Season 01
New Weapons
Season 01 will grant players access to all 30 weapons that launch with Black Ops 7, in addition to new weapons and mechanics. Players can now enjoy weapon prestige and the associated prestige attachments.
Moreover, Weapon Build Sharing is being introduced for Black Ops 7 weapons, offering greater customization options.
However, bear in mind that while Legacy Weapons are available in Warzone, they do not support:
- Weapon Prestige & Weapon Prestige Camos.
- Black Ops 7 Weapon and Warzone Mastery Camos.
- New Black Ops 7 Reticle Challenges.
- Black Ops 7 Weapon Customization items.
- Build Sharing and Build Codes.
Gameplay Enhancements
Several gameplay adjustments and updates are on the horizon:
- Movement: Tac Sprint is now integrated into the Sprinter Perk, with an overall increase in base movement speed. Players with the Mountaineer Perk can now take advantage of the new Combat Roll mechanic.
- Loadout: Accessing your Loadout will now automatically grant the Overkill advantage, eliminating the need for Wildcards.
- Equipment: A refreshed selection of Tactical and Lethal equipment will be available, including the Needle Drone Lethal, Pinpoint Grenade Tactical, Phantom Signal Tactical, and Echo Unit Field Upgrade.
- Equipment Interactions: New interactions have been added – for instance, Smoke Grenades can now extinguish Molotov fire, while Stim Shots negate the effects of Flash and Concussion Grenades.
- Perks: The three Perk Slots have been revamped, plus a new Adaptive Perk has been introduced.
Operators
With the launch of Season 01, players will have access to every operator they have unlocked or owned across Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and now Black Ops 7, including skins and finishing moves.

Additionally, players can expect exciting new equipment:
- Tactical: Pinpoint Grenade (Ground Loot Only): This tactical provides short-term reconnaissance by deploying tracking darts to mark enemy positions within its radius.
- Tactical: Psych Grenade: This gadget releases red gas that creates auditory and visual distortions, spawning phantom enemies.
- Tactical: Phantom Signal (Ground Loot Only): This device makes up to three nearby enemies emit distorted audio cues while revealing their locations on the compass.
- Lethal: Needle Drone (Ground Loot Only): A throwable mini-drone that detonates on impact and can be remotely controlled for a short duration.
- Field Upgrade: Echo Unit: This upgrade creates a realistic decoy that mimics your Operator’s appearance and posture.
Updated Perks
According to the updates presented in the blog, players can expect the following Perks in Season 01:
Perk 1:
- Scavenger: Increases ammo and resource acquisition.
- Veteran: Enhances equipment resistance and long-range weapon handling.
- Mountaineer: Reduces damage taken from falls.
- Cold-Blooded: Provides immunity to tracking equipment and electronic warfare.
- Grenadier: Improves explosive equipment handling.
Perk 2:
- Quick Fix: Boosts armor handling and health regeneration.
- Alertness: Increases situational awareness.
- Reactive Armor: Improves armor recovery and defensive capabilities.

New POIs in Verdansk
The classic Verdansk map won’t be left out, as it will see the addition of two new POIs at launch:

CODMAS Holiday Event
As we enter December, players can anticipate the return of the CODMAS holiday event, which will offer exclusive limited-time activities, festive holiday-themed challenges, and a chaotic celebration.
Haven’s Hollow, Verdansk, and Rebirth Island will all be adorned with seasonal decor.
