The highly anticipated Solo Battle Royale mode has made its return to Warzone, igniting discussions among players regarding their preferences between this mode and the more casual variant that incorporates bots. The recent changes signal not only a shift in player dynamics but also a response to fervent community feedback.
During the Season 3 update, the introduction of Warzone Casual coincided with the much-loved comeback of Verdansk, creating a more user-friendly environment. This Casual mode allowed players to engage in combat against both bots and human opponents, providing a less intense setting to refine their skills. This new approach appealed greatly to gamers looking for a more relaxed gameplay experience.
Due to the mode’s impressive reception, a solo variant was launched in Season 4. However, it replaced the traditional Solos playlist, which left players wanting—forcing those without teams to face bots or connect randomly. This limitation generated a significant demand from the community for the original mode to return, culminating in its reintroduction on June 26 through a playlist update.
Solos Reintroduced: A Temporary Solution?
In the Season 4 Reloaded blog post, developers disclosed a noteworthy statistic: “three times more players participated in Casual Solos compared to standard Solos.” This switch not only enhanced queue times and stability but was also well-received by both returning and current players. Prior to its removal, the traditional Solos playlist had struggled, often ranking at the bottom of player preferences alongside two dozen other options.
The developers have now decided to experiment by allowing both playlists to coexist. This approach aims to evaluate whether players favor one mode over the other, determining the future of each in the Warzone landscape.

As described in their blog, the developers stated, “The next step in our test—which launches today—is to make both modes available to further observe player preference. This side-by-side test is an important part of our ongoing effort to refine our playlist experience. We’ll share more results from this test at a later date.”
They emphasized the importance of preserving a healthy gaming ecosystem while ensuring players have the flexibility to choose the gameplay they find most enjoyable. As a result, while Solos is accessible for now, it remains uncertain whether it will continue, depending on player engagement levels. Developers will be actively monitoring feedback throughout Warzone Season 4 Reloaded as they assess the situation.
