Was this ranking just popularity?- My Hero Academia fans question how deserving Bakugo is of series’ Best Quirk title

The My Hero Academia World Hero Popularity Poll recently unveiled the Top 3 “Best Quirk Ranking”, and it is safe to say that the results were met with some discontent from certain individuals.

Out of all the Quirks in the popularity poll, the top three spots were claimed by Shoto Todoroki’s Half-Hot-Half-Cold Quirk in third place, Izuku Midoriya’s One For All Quirk in a close second, and Katsuki Bakugo’s Explosion Quirk in first place.

Despite Bakugo’s victory in the Best Quirk Ranking, a considerable number of fans expressed their disappointment with the results of the poll. They argued that My Hero Academia boasts a plethora of even more captivating Quirks than the aforementioned three, causing them to question the authenticity of Bakugo’s win and whether it was solely influenced by his immense popularity.

Controversy over Bakugo winning Best Quirk in My Hero Academia

Despite the vast and diverse ensemble of characters in My Hero Academia, Katsuki Bakugo remains the clear fan favorite. His immense popularity can be attributed to various factors, including his complex character growth throughout the story, his inventive and versatile use of his Explosion Quirk, and his moral ambiguity and fierce loyalty to his friends.

Despite the obvious appeal of Bakugo to the majority of fans, some began to question his recent win in the Top 3 “Best Quirk Ranking”of the My Hero Academia World Hero Popularity Poll and whether he truly deserved the title of “Best Quirk”.

Bakugo’s Explosion Quirk allows him to generate formidable explosions using the nitroglycerin-like sweat excretions from his palms. Although his Quirk may seem uncomplicated at first, Bakugo was able to enhance its efficiency and scope of capabilities.

Despite utilizing explosions to propel himself forward, Bakugo also developed a range of distinctive abilities and formidable attacks through his Quirk. These include Stun Grenade, Howitzer Impact, AP Shot, and Cluster Bomb, among others.

Despite Bakugo claiming the title of having the “Best Quirk”in the recent popularity poll, many fans were disappointed with his victory. While they acknowledged that Bakugo’s Explosion is undeniably one of My Hero Academia’s most versatile and powerful Quirks, they argued that it falls short of being considered the series’ best Quirk.

How Bakugo’s Victory in Best Quirk Was Received by Fans

Despite the expectation, a considerable number of My Hero Academia fans were becoming fatigued with Katsuki Bakugo consistently topping every poll. They outlined various Quirks that they believed surpassed Bakugo’s Explosion Quirk in all aspects, and raised doubts about his victory in the Best Quirk Ranking poll being solely attributed to his widespread popularity.

“Mind control? Spawning Any Item? Cloning Others? Super Intelligence? Copying Quirks? Like what are we talking about bro,”said one fan.

“Bakugou fans are just doing tricks on it atp. no way explosion is over ofa,”said another.

“Whats the potion of even doing these polls if they’re always going to choose based on how attractive the character is? And THAT same goddamn character is always going to be at the top?”expressed another disgruntled fan.

However, others argued that none of the top three Quirks that were voted in the Best Quirk Ranking should have been declared the true winner. Moreover, certain fans also voiced their concern that Bakugo’s consistent victories in every poll were becoming monotonous and unexciting.

“None of those should be top 3, it’s just a popularity ranking lmao,”claimed one fan.

“Bakugo is really taking the fun out of these polls man,”one fan wrote.

“Is it really even a shock that bakugo is first I mean dude wins every time,”another chimed in.

Many fans believed that Izuku Midoriya’s One For All, Hitoshi Shinso’s Brainwashing, Momo Yaoyorozu’s Creation, and Neito Monoma’s Copy were superior to Bakugo’s Explosion Quirk. They questioned if he truly deserved to rank at the top of the Best Quirk Ranking poll.
