2023 ended with a bang for Fortnite players, with the Big Bang live event marking the end of the popularOG Season. The kickoff of Chapter 5 Season 1 was launched immediately. The following weeks saw the arrival of the long-awaited LEGO Mode and a series of crossovers, as well as the Party Winter 2023.
Fortnite has also received constant updates during this time. However, the holiday season slowed things down. Indeed, the game has not had a patch since December 18, 2023. Now, with the new year underway, players are wondering when the next one is scheduled.

Release date for the next Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 update
The next Fortnite update, version 28.10, is scheduled for January 23, 2024, just after the end of the winter vacation for Epic Games employees.

Three more dates regarding future updates have been leaked. Here they are:
- Update v28.20 – February 6, 2024
- Update v28.30 – February 20, 2024
- Update v29.00 (Chapter 5 Season 2) – March 8, 2024
Regarding update 28.10, dataminers revealed that it will unlock Super Tier styles for Battle Pass outfits. There would also be quests to obtain the Solid Snake bonus skin. Additionally, it is also speculated that Augmented Realities could be enabled later this season.
In addition, future updates will bring significant changes to the LEGO Fortnite, Festival and Rocket Racing modes that players have been waiting for with patience.
