Where Winds Meet Hits 15 Million Players Within One Month

In an impressive achievement, Where Winds Meet, the popular wuxia RPG, has celebrated a remarkable milestone by attracting 15 million players globally within just one month of its release.

On December 14, the developers expressed their gratitude to the community, acknowledging how player support has transformed the game into one of the year’s most notable successes. This player surge closely followed the launch of the mobile version on December 12, which significantly contributed to attracting a wider audience.

A Phenomenal Response to Where Winds Meet

This milestone is a continuation of the game’s impressive trajectory, having amassed nine million players within its first two weeks. Earlier, the game had also achieved a record of 251, 008 concurrent players on Steam on November 23, 2025.

Even the development team was taken aback by this overwhelming response. Beralt Lyu, the Lead Producer, acknowledged that the figures greatly exceeded their initial expectations. In a December 7 interview with FRVR, he stated, “We hoped it would find its audience, the players who would love the freedom and mystery we tried to create.” He continued, “But nine million players in two weeks… that number has honestly blown all our internal expectations out of the water.”

The excitement doesn’t stop there; this milestone follows the recent release of Version 1.1, a significant update that introduced many new elements, including an expanded Kaifeng map, a new sect, additional campaign chapters, fresh outfits, seasonal events, and numerous quality-of-life enhancements.

Moreover, to celebrate the upcoming New Year, Where Winds Meet will host a global in-game fireworks event from December 31, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Players worldwide are invited to join in the festivities, participating according to their local countdown times as they usher in the New Year.
