Why Kishimoto won’t let Momoshiki become the next Vegeta in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, explored

As the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga continues to unfold, fans have been drawing comparisons between certain characters and elements from other popular manga series. Momoshiki, who remains a mysterious figure, has been a hot topic among fans. In addition, many have likened him to Vegeta from the beloved Dragon Ball franchise.

Despite being a deuteragonist in the series, the Prince of Saiyans is highly revered and considered on par with the protagonist, Goku, in terms of popularity. Fans may question why he is often compared to characters like Momoshiki, and why creator Akira Toriyama does not give Momoshiki the same level of attention and development as Vegeta.

Despite sharing similar initial goals and perspectives on various things, the two individuals are fundamentally different and are unlikely to follow the same path in their individual journeys.

This article includes some mild spoilers from the manga chapters.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex: Why Masashi Kishimoto Refuses to Give Momoshiki the Same Role as Vegeta

From the beginning of his appearance in the series, Vegeta was depicted as a heartless and merciless murderer. He was determined to avenge his clan’s suffering and was willing to go to any lengths to increase his strength, even resorting to cold-blooded murder without a second thought. His malicious nature was evident throughout the early stages of the series.

Similar to Vegeta, Momoshiki shares a few traits. He too has caused harm to others and has not hesitated to end lives in pursuit of strength. Such tendencies were also evident in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Like Vegeta, Momoshiki takes great pride in his clan and possesses extensive knowledge about them. He strives to become one of the strongest Otsutsuki members in the series. Additionally, both characters share a strong sense of pride.

Despite his previous intense hatred, Vegeta was able to overcome it and build a family. This transformation of his character was highly praised in the Dragon Ball series. However, Masashi Kishimoto has chosen not to give Momoshiki the same development. Unlike Vegeta, Momoshiki is inherently evil and his very essence is filled with malice. He revels in being evil and is one of the few characters who will never have a moment of redemption.

Kishimoto may have turned him into one of Shibai’s clones, whose main purpose is to search for the perfect vessel for the Otsutsuki God. It is possible that Shibai chose to transcend his physical form due to its inability to handle his immense powers. Regardless, it is highly likely that he will play a significant role as one of the main antagonists in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series.

Momoshiki remains an enigmatic figure and there have been suggestions that he will have a significant impact when the protagonist is facing defeat. As a result, Momoshiki will not be treated in the same manner as Vegeta was in the Dragon Ball series.
