Will Geralt be Returning in The Witcher 4? Voice Actor Breaks Silence

The upcoming release of The Witcher 4 has been shrouded in mystery, but one question has been answered: Will Geralt make a return?

The upcoming release of The Witcher 4 is highly anticipated due to the immense success of its predecessor. The previous installment, The Witcher 3, propelled the franchise into the mainstream and even inspired a Netflix adaptation and spin-off.

Although specific information regarding a release date or storyline for The Witcher 4 is not yet known, it has been confirmed that nearly half of CD Projekt RED’s development team is currently dedicated to its creation. Additionally, it has been revealed that the game will mark the start of a new trilogy within the vast universe of The Witcher.

In light of this, CD Projekt RED has announced that Geralt of Rivia will not be the central character in the game. However, voice actor Doug Cockle has confirmed whether Geralt will make an appearance in the Witcher 4.

Will Geralt of Rivia Appear in The Witcher 4?

According to Doug Cockle, the voice actor for the character Geralt, it has been confirmed that Geralt will make an appearance in some capacity in The Witcher 4. This was announced by Cockle in a video on our Fall Damage channel.

“The announcement of Witcher 4 has been made, but details are still limited. According to Cockle, it has been confirmed that Geralt will make an appearance in the game, but it will not revolve solely around him. The extent of his role has yet to be revealed.”

According to Executive Producer John Mamais, while it has been known for some time that The Witcher 4 will not center around Geralt as the main antagonist, there has been speculation about his potential appearance in the game. In a previous interview with Polygon, Mamais mentioned that there is a possibility for Geralt to make an appearance in future installments of the franchise, but a decision on this has yet to be made.

Who Will Be the Main Character in The Witcher 4?

Despite Cockle’s explanation, it is still unclear who will replace Geralt in The Witcher 4. There is a lot of speculation surrounding this topic, though.

The devoted followers of the games strongly believe that Ciri will most likely become the leader. This could definitely happen if CD Projekt RED decides to make a specific ending from The Witcher 3 official. However, some adjustments may need to be made to her character.

The promotional material has also revealed a lynx amulet, suggesting a connection to the covert School of the Cat. It is also possible that the protagonist of The Witcher 4 could be a newcomer from this specific faction.
