Latest Updates for Windows 10: December 2025
- Windows 10 version 22H2 is receiving the update build 19045.6691 (KB5071546) through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
- This update addresses a specific command in PowerShell 5.1.
- No significant new features are included, as mainstream support for Windows 10 ended on November 14, 2025.
Currently, builds 19045.6691 and 19044.6691 (KB5071546) are being deployed as part of the December 2025 Security Update under the ESU program for Windows versions 22H2 and 21H2. This incremental update introduces modifications to PowerShell 5.1.
The details in the change logs indicate that the KB5071546 update enhances the Invoke-WebRequest command within PowerShell 5.1 by adding a confirmation prompt that warns users about the risks associated with script execution.
Moreover, this release also incorporates fixes from the November 2025 Security Update, along with an out-of-band update that was made available in the same month.



During the initial phase of development, Microsoft does not disclose the finalized names for updates meant for the Stable Channel. Initially marked as non-security updates while in preview, official designations—such as the November 2025 Security Update—are assigned after their release on Patch Tuesday.
Updates for Older Windows Versions
Additionally, Microsoft is releasing updates for earlier versions of Windows 10, including 1809 and 1607. For instance, update KB5071544 for version 1809 raises the build number to 17763.8146 while addressing various issues.
Version 1607 also receives attention with update KB5071543, which updates the build to 14393.8688, fixing several persistent problems within the operating system.
