Windows 11 Build 27950 Now Available in Canary Channel Update

Microsoft has released Windows 11 build 27950 in the Canary Channel, offering a series of bug fixes and minor updates, while acknowledging several known issues.
This preview lacks new features or major enhancements.

Microsoft is actively rolling out Windows 11 build 27950 via the Canary Channel as part of the Windows Insider Program. Unlike previous updates, this version does not introduce new functionalities but focuses on refining user experience through various fixes and adjustments.

As highlighted in the official announcement, this build includes numerous unspecified improvements aimed at overall system performance. Notably, Microsoft has reinstated the “For Developers” page within the Settings app temporarily until the new “Advanced” page is fully functional.

Key Fixes Included in Build 27950

This preview addresses several bugs, including:

General: Resolved a rollback issue during installation that resulted in errors 0xC1900101-0x20017 and 0xC1900101-0x30017.
Taskbar: Corrected an alignment problem with taskbar app previews after display resolution changes.
File Explorer: Fixed issues causing unresponsiveness when using the context menu and addressed hangs during the Open or Save dialog. Also corrected flickering in the right-click context menu.
Graphics: Resolved screen flickering issues that notably affected browsing experiences.
Audio: Fixed problems with audio that emerged following recent updates.
Dynamic Lighting: Improved the performance of the Dynamic Lighting Background Controller, which was previously consuming excessive processor resources post-device unlock.
Gaming: Enhanced gaming performance while using overlays through the Game Bar, particularly on systems with multiple monitors featuring varying refresh rates.

Current Known Issues

Despite these improvements, users should be aware of persisting issues, notably the occurrence of Blue Screen of Death errors related to IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on ARM64 devices. Additionally, the PIX on Windows feature currently cannot play back GPU captures in this version.
