Revamped ‘About’ Page in Windows 11 Settings App

Microsoft is rolling out a comprehensive update to the ‘About’ section of the Windows 11 Settings app, enhancing the page’s structure while removing specific top cards that previously showcased key technical specifications. This update streamlines the user experience, providing clearer insights into device information.

Updated Features in the Latest Builds

The revisions are part of Windows 11 build versions 26220.6982 and 26120.6982, available in both the Dev and Beta channels. Users can access these updates by navigating to Settings > System > About.

Key Changes to the ‘About’ Page

At the top of the redesigned page, you will now find the introduction of the “This device” section, which features a thumbnail of your desktop, the computer’s name, and an option to rename the device. This change marks a departure from the prior format that included key technical details at the forefront.

The section once known as “Device specifications” has been rebranded to “Device info”. While it retains basic technical specifications, it will no longer display details regarding storage or graphics capabilities.

Introducing ‘Device Insights’

Moreover, the “Frequently Asked Questions” area has been restructured and is now titled “Device insights.” This section operates independently from “Device info.”
