Episode 9 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword kicks off with Logwell briefing Cariot about the Praxis test. During this dialogue, it is revealed that the King has not returned from his expedition. As the students begin their descent into the dungeon, Edward officially starts the test.

Lihanna’s party refuses to fall behind, showcasing their magical prowess by defeating several monsters in the dungeon. A flashback reveals that the “Search”spell is vital for detecting enemies in this environment.

Unfortunately, Will’s inability to use the Search spell puts him at a disadvantage, as he struggles to detect the enemies before his teammates. He observes that their Search spells have a far greater range than his own senses, allowing them to tackle threats faster than he anticipates.

Wignall, who had previously accepted Will onto the team, now questions Lihanna’s decision-making. Julius shares similar concerns, feeling Will Serfort will only hinder their progress due to his magical limitations. Meanwhile, Will focuses on gathering item drops from the monsters they’ve defeated.

When a mage vanquishes a monster within the dungeon, their wand captures the magical traces, storage records, credits, and other essential data from the battle.

In Will’s case, he cannot utilize his wand to collect credits; instead, he must manually gather every item and fragment from the defeated monsters. He contemplates other ways to contribute to his party while wrestling with feelings of inadequacy as he watches his teammates battle on his behalf.

The perspective shifts to Lihanna, who suggests a much-needed break. Following her cue, Wignall employs his fairy magic, Nardrea, to construct a barrier of flames, ensuring their safety from approaching monsters.

As they rest, Will Serfort distributes rations to his teammates, but Wignall refuses to accept them directly from his hand. In Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 9, it is depicted that elves only make physical connections with those they deem worthy.

Wignall avoids touching Will even indirectly, believing that Lihanna is the only worthy member of the group. Colette defends Will, but he instructs her to let it go, acknowledging the elves’ cultural customs and expressing that he’s unfazed by it.

According to episode 9 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, both Elves and Dwarves originate from another realm. Elves are renowned for their magical abilities and are held in high regard. The Elven Queen, Ellenor, is one of the esteemed members of Magia Vander.

While taking a break, Lihanna motivates her companions, emphasizing that their primary goal is to defeat Luminous Naberus, the formidable Floor Keeper of the 10th floor, which holds a value of 110 credits. Lihanna reveals she formed the team specifically to confront this monster.

Julius expresses his doubts about the mission’s feasibility, reminding them that many have fallen against this beast. Nonetheless, Lihanna intends to prove their strength by defeating such a powerful foe. The mages choose the most direct route to reach the 10th floor, aiming to conserve their energy.

Meanwhile, the unidentified mages persist in their ruthless attacks, slaughtering more faculty members of the Rigarden Academy. Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 9 shifts back to Lihanna’s group, where they stumble upon several monstrous carcasses across the 10th floor.

Julius questions the situation, speculating about the possibility of another party’s involvement. Will inspects the remains and deduces that they were brutally torn apart. Horrifyingly, they soon discover the corpse of Lumious Naberus, the Floor Keeper.

Suddenly, a colossal monster ambushes them, causing a seismic shock that scatters the party across different areas of the lower floor.

Lihanna, accompanied by Colette, worries they may have exited the protective territory of the academy, known as the Nightmare’s Maw, which extends to the 15th floor and is typically accessible only to Tower mages. Will, on the other hand, falls to the lower floor with Wignall, who suffers an injury to his left arm, while Sion and Julius find themselves separated in another zone.

The storyline of episode 9 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword shifts to Wignall, who recalls a traumatic incident from his past where Ellenor chastises him for being a disgrace to the elven community due to his poor illusions. Regaining consciousness, he notices the corpse of a threatening serpent-like creature nearby.

He is astounded by Will’s ability to have defeated such a formidable foe. Meanwhile, as Will attempts to treat Wignall’s injury, the elf refuses his assistance and tends to the wound himself. After assessing their resources, Will concludes they may only have 24 hours left before running out of supplies.

Wignall proposes they wait for rescue, but Will Serfort argues that inaction could lead to their demise. Instead of waiting, he wants to navigate the labyrinth to find Colette and the others.

Eliza, a professor at the Rigarden Academy, alerts Workner that a monstrous horde has overrun their base camp. Edward swiftly cancels the Praxis test and departs with Workner to rescue the students.

In another scene, Will advises Wignall against using his Search spell excessively, as continuous usage drains a mage’s magic reserves. Wignall retorts, questioning what they should do if an enemy ambushes them.

Will remains steady and suggests that rather than fearing surprise attacks, they should avoid conflict when possible. Wignall is taken aback by Will’s calm demeanor in the face of danger.

With a smile, Will asserts his determination to climb the tower, dedicating himself to earning the necessary praxis credits. He emphasizes his experience navigating dungeons exceeds Wignall’s.

A Gergesa leaps at Wignall, causing him to panic and attempt an illusion spell, which fails. Will then charges, slicing the Gergesa in half before it can harm Wignall. He informs Wignall that Gergesas are immune to illusion magic as they are devoid of eyes. Wignall, feeling despondent, can only chuckle. The episode concludes with Wignall labeling himself a failure.
