Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 Confirmed for Production

Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2 has officially been green-lit for production. This exciting news was confirmed by the anime’s official production team, who released an announcement trailer and visual following the season 1 finale on Sunday, September 29, 2024. At this time, specific details regarding the release date for the sequel remain unannounced.

Fujino Omori, renowned for his Danmachi light novels, began the manga series in December 2020 through Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. The series is also available in English via Kodansha’s K Manga service.

On September 29, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the popular fantasy anime revealed an announcement visual and a promotional video confirming the production of Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2. This came immediately after the conclusion of the season 1 finale, though no release date has been provided yet.

The 13-second promotional video highlights memorable scenes and the main cast from the first season while unveiling the season 2 announcement graphic. The illustration crafted by Toshi Aoi portrays characters such as Will Serfort, Finn, and the enigmatic Mages, Headless and Marze.

In a recent comment, author Fujino Omori reassured fans that the captivating journey of Wand and Sword will proceed. He encouraged followers to continuously support the series throughout its development.

The anime features an exciting voice cast, including Kohei Amasaki as Will Serfort, Akira Sekine as Elfaria Albis Serfort, Satomi Amano as Colette Loire, Aoi Inase as Kiki, Lynn as Lihanna Owenzaus, Masaaki Mizunaka as Sion Ulster, Mutsumi Tamura as Finn, and Tetsuya Kakihara as Julius Reinberg, among others.

Produced by Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures, Season 1 premiered on July 7, 2024.

Tatsuya Yoshihara directed the series and supervised the script, while Sayaka Ono took charge of character design as chief animation director. The music for the anime was composed by Yuki Hayashi.

What to expect in Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2?

As the previous season covered the manga up to chapter 20, it’s expected that Wistoria: Wand and Sword season 2 will continue the adaptation from chapter 21 onward. Fans can look forward to the sequel covering the Graduation Finals Arc and the Blooming Festival Arcs, particularly if it maintains a similar episode count as season 1.

This upcoming season is set to depict the events of Terminalia, a significant day when the Magia Vanders reconstruct the false sky, also known as the barrier, to safeguard the world from malevolent forces. Will Serfort’s development as the unifying figure of the Wand and Sword will be a central focus in this season.
