WoW: The War Within is Bringing Stat Boosts to Items for the First Time Ever

The alpha version of World of Warcraft: The War Within has been released, and players are already uncovering the expansion’s exciting features. Among the latest revelations is a specialized bag that provides its own set of beneficial character-boosting statistics.

According to Wowhead, a 32-slot bag named Arathor Courier’s Satchel has been discovered in the new Khaz Algar zone, providing a 3% increase in run speed. While this may not directly impact damage or resistance, it is a valuable asset and a promising hint at further improvements to itemization in the future.

The implications for bags in the future are uncertain, but it could potentially serve as a trial for incorporating more statistics on bags and other items. Utilizing these statistics in partnership with professions would be logical, potentially improving abilities or reducing gathering time when utilizing specific bags.

An important aspect to mention about this recently released bag is its utilization of the item modifications introduced in The War Within Warband system. The updated implementation aims to enhance the alt-friendliness of World of Warcraft and promote character cross-progression.

A new item type known as Warbound until Equipped is included in this. This indicates that the item can be freely exchanged between characters in the Warband until one of them utilizes it, after which it will be exclusively bound to that character. The recently found bag falls under this category, and any future items of this type are likely to follow the same rule.

At the time of writing, there is no information available from Blizzard about the release date for The War Within. The expansion is currently in its Alpha phase and will likely continue for some time.
