xQc’s Controversial Return to Overwatch 2: Flaming Teammate Could Result in Ban

Streaming star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel made a comeback to Overwatch and took the risk of being banned within minutes of starting a game.

Before becoming a streaming sensation, xQc was already a well-known Overwatch professional player. Currently, he is one of the most popular streamers on the internet and has recently secured a lucrative $100M non-exclusive contract with Kick.

Despite briefly serving as the Dallas Fuel’s main tank in the OWL, Lengyel ultimately left the world of esports behind due to a series of issues, after notably helping lead Team Canada to a silver medal at the 2017 Overwatch World Cup.

Having said that, the French Canadian occasionally plays Overwatch. In a July livestream, he was attacking on Dorado and struggling.

As the round reached the thirty-second mark, xQc became increasingly frustrated with his team’s performance. One of his Junkrat teammates had started using their microphone to spout nonsense, adding to xQc’s aggravation.

“I have to act like a bounty hunter in this game,”the DPS player stated out of the blue, causing xQc to explode in anger.

“You’re a damn disgrace,”he shouted. “Let me make that clear. Follow the rules. Win the match.”

Surprisingly, the team managed to achieve this feat. They altered their hero lineup and successfully delivered the payload to the first checkpoint, effectively defending against their adversaries during their turn to protect… Even while facing a seemingly elusive Tracer on the enemy team.

Despite this, xQc’s previous remarks to his teammate during the round may have negative consequences, as Blizzard’s policies on in-game communication are both strict and controversial.

In fact, in the beginning of 2024, a player received notoriety for being banned due to typing “GG,””yipppeee,”and “nice shot”in the game’s chat.

A player’s college scholarship was almost jeopardized by Overwatch 2’s ban system when they used the term “dumpsyer”- which was actually the name of their teammate.

While Lengyel has not been banned at this time, there is always the possibility that upon loading up Overwatch again, he may be unable to queue up due to his previous behavior of flaming other players.
