The official team behind the Yatagarasu animation released a promotional video on Sunday, June 30, 2024, confirming the adaptation of the Kin no Karasu arc from the original light novel series. The short video revealed that the new arc will debut on July 20, 2024. Furthermore, the team also announced a new addition to the cast for the upcoming arc.
The series debuted on NHK channel in Japan on April 6, 2024. Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting the episodes of the anime.
Yatagarasu anime’s Kin no Karasu arc trailer set for July 20, 2024
On Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Yatagarasu anime’s official website and X (previously known as Twitter) account released a new promotional video revealing that Chisato Abe’s third novel, Kin no Karasu (The Golden Crow), will be adapted into a new arc premiering on NHK on July 20, 2024.
The newest preview showcases the upcoming arc, set to occur following the tumultuous selection of the Queen. As Yukiya departs from the young prince, a new danger emerges for the boy. The PV features appearances from Yukiya, Wakamiya, and other significant characters.
The official staff for the Yatagarasu anime has recently announced the addition of a new cast member. Yume Miyamoto, a well-known voice actress, will be joining the voice cast as Koume. The promotional video showcases Koume and gives viewers a preview of her character’s voice.
A comment from Yume Miyamoto was recently posted on the official site, in which she discussed how she was able to perceive Koume’s determination and strength through her expression. She aimed to convey more than just a cheerful character, instead highlighting the challenges and struggles through her voice acting.

Staff and the plot for the Yatagarasu anime
Yoshiaki Kyogoku, known for his influential work on the first two seasons and film of the Laid-Back Camp anime, has been chosen to direct a new dark fantasy series at Studio Pierrot. The scripts will be supervised by Yukiko Yamamuro and the character design will be done by Takumo Norita. Eishi Segawa has been selected as the music composer.
Yatagarasu anime is inspired by Chisato Abe’s novels and revolves around the Yatagarasu, creatures with the ability to transform between humans and crows. These beings reside in a parallel realm known as Yamauchi, which was brought into existence by their deity, Yamagami.
The plot of the dark fantasy anime centers around Yukiya, a Yatagarasu, who is chosen to serve as the Crown Prince’s attendant, Wakamiya. However, he becomes embroiled in the clan’s schemes and develops a special connection with Wakamiya.
