Yellowstone Star’s Confusion with Female Fans of His Character

Yellowstone Star’s Confusion with Female Fans of His Character

The star who plays the most beloved and vicious character in Yellowstone was unable to comprehend the female attraction towards his character.

Despite the fact that not many characters on Yellowstone can be described as “lovable”, viewers of the Taylor Sheridan show still have their own personal favorites. One of the most beloved characters is Rip Wheeler, who immediately captured the hearts of fans with his fierce devotion and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect the Dutton family, even if it means committing acts of violence.

Despite being a hired hitman, he possesses a heart of gold. He embodies the image of a branded hand, dedicated to fulfilling his agreement with John Dutton for the rest of his days. It’s no wonder that Rip would be a desirable role for any actor, however, Yellowstone cast member Cole Hauser was surprised by the large number of female fans the character has.

In a conversation with People, Hauser confessed that he initially struggled to comprehend the adoration for Rip, especially from women. He even believed it was entirely inappropriate.

Initially, when women started approaching me and exclaiming, “I absolutely adore your character,”I couldn’t help but wonder, “What’s the matter with you?”he stated.

After considering it, he does understand it to some extent. He also mentioned that as Yellowstone has become more popular, he sees how the image of the “bad boy”is appealing to people.

The inclusion of the “bad boy”element in Yellowstone is likely a contributing factor to the show’s appeal among female viewers. Rip, the Dutton Ranch’s most machismo character, becomes Beth’s devoted love interest and eventual husband, which could explain his appeal to a specific fanbase.

However, there are other reasons to love Rip, and Hauser is well aware of them.

“He mentioned that one of [Rip’s] exceptional qualities is his incredible heart. Not only is he fiercely devoted to the Dutton family, but also to Beth [Dutton (Kelly Reilly)]. Despite his tendency to resort to violence, his inherent kindness is truly admirable. For me, it’s a dream to portray a character with such a complex balance of both traits.”

“In the last five seasons, Taylor has consistently provided Rip with dynamic and vibrant character traits, reflecting your keen eye for color in characters.”
