When it comes to completing Yellowstone’s final episodes, Cole Hauser has one significant objective that we can all support.
Many fans of Yellowstone share the same expectations for Season 5 Part 2, including a satisfactory explanation for the absence of John Dutton.
Fortunately, a key member of the Yellowstone ensemble shares this desire. According to Country Living, Cole Hauser, known for his role as John Dutton’s loyal confidant Rip Wheeler, has expressed his wish for the show to have a strong and satisfying conclusion.
“My current focus is solely on completing Yellowstone in the best way possible, just the show itself,”he explained. “There may be potential for future projects with Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly, myself, and the rest of the cast. I am eager to see where he takes us creatively, but for now, our main goal is to finish strong and give it our all.”
It is possible that when he mentions “stuff on the horizon”for their characters, he is alluding to their potential involvement in the upcoming spinoff, Yellowstone 2024. Since this next chapter in the Dutton family’s story is expected to pick up where Yellowstone left off, it is logical to assume that Rip and Beth will have some involvement in the continuation of the narrative.
Rip has consistently been a crowd favorite on Yellowstone. Despite being a ruthless murderer, his tragic past and unshakable devotion to John and his loved ones have earned him sympathy and made him one of the few redeemable characters on the series. This is no small feat, considering Rip’s despicable actions.
Regarding his experience on the show and his character, Hauser had a comment to share as well. It was clear that it was fate that led him to play the role of Rip.
During a conversation about his career, the actor reflected on the common experience of having one or two defining roles, particularly in the entertainment industry. He expressed his gratitude for having had the opportunity to portray such roles, and specifically mentioned one that felt like a perfect fit, which was a collaboration between himself and Taylor Sheridan.
