Renowned YouTuber Park Seung-hyun tragically passed away at the age of 34, just days after sharing his struggles on social media.
Park, who had amassed nearly one million subscribers on his channel, was widely recognized for his dedication to bodybuilding and his strong stance against the use of steroids. He succumbed to health complications on Sunday, January 5, 2025. His brother took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news: “On January 5, 2025, 15:51 my brother Seung Hyun went to heaven due to health reasons. The parents’ feelings are not accepted; we don’t take advice. May you rest in peace with a heart of comfort.”
In the days leading up to his death, Park openly discussed his declining health. Just four days prior, he expressed feelings of isolation and lack of motivation, stating he wasn’t even trying to eat and felt as though his “passions and goals are gone.”
Open Discussions About Health Challenges
The bodybuilder was candid about his health issues, frequently mentioning his use of prescription medicines. Earlier in September 2023, he revealed that a panic attack had severely affected the strength of his heart, leading to his complete cessation of exercise. “Stopped all the exercise and drugs, and all the activities. Sounds like it’s going to be difficult. I’m sorry. Can’t keep a strong heart,” he had posted.
In the same month, he also conveyed his feelings of despair, discussing issues with paralysis and a growing mistrust of others, remarking, “It keeps getting worse in my head. Severe paralysis, forming broken trust.” Following hernia surgery, Park lamented that he wished he “could never wake up.”
Despite previously admitting to his steroid use, Park transformed his life by embracing the role of an advocate, raising awareness about the dangers associated with performance-enhancing drugs.
In the wake of his death, an outpouring of support emerged, with nearly 8,000 fans expressing their condolences and gratitude in the comments section of his death announcement. Many fans thanked Park for his invaluable insights on bodybuilding and commended him for his relentless dedication until the end.
