A YouTuber has demonstrated an unconventional method of playing World of Warcraft, proving that it’s possible to engage with the game using “nothing but meat.”In an impressive feat, he defeated a boss by controlling his character with hot dogs.
During a recent 24-hour streaming event, ‘Addison2k’ reached a donation milestone that motivated him to attempt a Mythic Keystone run without traditional controls—no keyboard, no mouse, just meat. In preparation, he designed and 3D printed two unique controllers from plastic, each featuring four holes. Instead of buttons or joysticks typically found on gaming devices, he inserted hot dogs into these holes.
To make this playful setup functional, each hole was wired to correspond with specific game inputs. This innovative approach allowed him to control movement with one set of hot dogs while using the other for attacks and abilities. The arrangement was not without its challenges, as he faced limitations in camera movement and dodging mechanics.
Utilizing Eight Hot Dogs to Conquer WoW
Despite the limitations of this unconventional controller, Addison2k and his gaming team managed to take down the initial bosses successfully. However, he later confessed to a moment of cheating. When an enemy became stuck on a defeated foe, he realized he had forgotten to bind the tab key to a hot dog, necessitating a temporary return to his keyboard to resolve the situation and continue the gameplay.
Aside from this hiccup, the gaming session saw all bosses defeated, but it wasn’t without its drawbacks. As the play session progressed, the hot dogs became “kind of warm, ” creating an uncomfortable scenario. In fact, he humorously noted in the comments that “my hands smelled like hotdogs for hours after” the event concluded.
This amusing experiment highlights the creativity and fun that can be found in gaming, even when it involves unconventional materials. While it may be possible to play World of Warcraft using nothing but hot dogs and a creative spirit, the question remains: should you?
