Mat Armstrong, a YouTuber, unintentionally crashed his initial Lamborghini and is now faced with the decision of whether to fix it or not.
Despite being a former BMX professional, Mat Armstrong is renowned for his YouTube channel where he repairs and restores supercars that have been deemed totaled. This passion for mechanic work was sparked by an injury that ended his career in BMX.
Starting in 2019, he embarked on his journey as a YouTuber and currently boasts a subscriber count of over 2.81 million.
One of Armstrong’s most recent and widely viewed videos featured him discussing the incident where he unintentionally wrecked his personally customized Lamborghini Gallardo, which had been outfitted with more than 1000 horsepower.
Armstrong remarked, “The tables have turned,”as he described the wet road conditions that caused his car to land in a ditch. He admitted, “I completely lost control of the car.”
According to Armstrong, since his entire life revolves around cars, an accident was inevitable “at some point.”
Armstrong proceeded to clarify, “Typically, I purchase vehicles that have been involved in accidents. However, in this instance, I unfortunately crashed my only car, which had never been in a crash before.”
Despite his initial plan to use his personal truck, Armstrong was unable to pull his totaled Lamborghini out of the ditch himself. Before the vehicle could be retrieved, authorities had to remove a telephone pole that had fallen on top of it.
Despite the vehicle being a “complete mess,”Armstrong miraculously managed to escape the crash without sustaining any injuries.
Armstrong reflected on the severity of the crash, remarking, “The more I lay my eyes upon the car, the more I appreciate just how fortunate I was.”
Despite initially heading to the shop to repair the rear suspension of the Gallardo, Armstrong is now faced with a multitude of repairs due to the accident. These repairs will include replacing the front bumper, frame, subframe, headlight, back left suspension, rear wing, and more.
Although he acknowledged that the Gallardo is difficult to drive at high speeds, he also stated that he could not remember ever exceeding the 50 MPH limit that led to his crash.
Currently, Armstrong is uncertain about whether he will repair the damages on the Gallardo or relinquish ownership once the insurance company evaluates the extent of the damages.
