Despite the ongoing battle against Ryomen Sukuna in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Yuji Itadori has continuously pushed himself to new heights. Within a short period, he has demonstrated mastery over various potent abilities such as Simple Domain, Reverse Cursed Technique, Blood Manipulation, and his latest achievement, the Domain Expansion. This ultimate Jujutsu sorcery is a testament to his growth and skill.
Nonetheless, what stood out as Yuji’s most astonishing and remarkable achievement during the ongoing confrontation was his clever utilization of Sukuna’s Shrine cursed technique and Dismantle attack against the cursed king himself. This sparked numerous speculations among fans, suggesting that Yuji holds the potential to tap into even more of Sukuna’s powers and ultimately defeat the King of Curses once and for all.
Similarly, according to a recent fan theory for Jujutsu Kaisen, it is speculated that Yuji may acquire his own rendition of Sukuna’s “Fuga”, which could potentially be the crucial factor in defeating him.
Jujutsu Kaisen Fan Theory: Yuji’s Own Version of Fuga Could Lead to Sukuna’s Defeat
Recently, a user named @UraumeFan shared an interesting theory about Jujutsu Kaisen on X. According to the theory, Yuji Itadori might create a unique form of Ryomen Sukuna’s “Fuga”in the upcoming chapters. This version would differ greatly from the Divine Flames used by the King of Curses and could potentially be the key to defeating him.
Before delving into the aforementioned theory, it is important to first examine the distinct Shrine techniques of Sukuna and Yuji and how they differ from one another.
Sukuna’s Shrine cursed technique grants him the ability to utilize the “Fuga”chant, meaning “Open,”which allows him to control fire for long-distance assaults. He employed this technique twice, once against the Cursed Spirit Jogo and a second time against the Divine General Mahoraga.
On both occasions, Sukuna utilized a Fire Arrow attack following his “Fuga”chant, effectively obliterating his adversaries. However, he must first execute his Cleave and Dismantle moves in order to perform this technique.
Yuji’s Shrine cursed technique, on the other hand, differed significantly from Sukuna’s. It was only when Yuji entered an awakened state after successfully executing multiple Black Flashes on Sukuna that he was able to unleash the cursed technique embedded in his soul, which was originally possessed by Sukuna.
Just like Sukuna, Yuji has the ability to cut anything he comes into contact with using this technique. However, the distinction between their slashes lies in their strength and appearance. While Sukuna’s slashes are precise and swift, leaving a clean single strike, Yuji’s slashes leave a trail of dashed lines resembling scissors on the surface of the object he wishes to cut.
Based on the user’s perspective, it can be argued that Sukuna’s Shrine technique can be seen as a form of cooking, as it involves utilizing Cleave and Dismantle attacks to slice up enemies before igniting them with the Divine Flame. This aspect of the technique also mirrors Sukuna’s nature as a gluttonous cannibal.
Despite Sukuna’s fiery nature, Yuji’s personality is the complete opposite. This is why using modern cooking techniques or fire would not be fitting for Yuji’s Shrine. His slashing movements resemble that of scissors, leading the user to come up with a technique that aligns with this nature – sewing.
An illustration of this is seen in the process of creating clothing, where one must first cut fabrics into various shapes and then join them together. Similarly, the individual deduced that Yuji’s slashes may serve a similar function, potentially revealing the underlying intention of his Shrine technique to be cutting and stitching objects together, as opposed to Sukuna’s Shine, which is primarily used for slicing and setting things or individuals ablaze.
The user added more detail about Yuji’s sewing skills, proposing that he could potentially cut and stitch together pieces of a person’s soul and body. While it is typically impossible for someone to join two souls, Mahito was able to achieve this through Idle Transfiguration.
According to reports, Yuji’s utilization of his Soul Dismantle techniques has resulted in the separation of Sukuna’s and Megumi Fushiguro’s souls. Based on this information, it can be speculated that Yuji intends to collect the fragments of Sukuna’s soul he has removed and merge them with his own.
The user also mentioned their belief that Yuji deliberately chose not to heal his two missing fingers, as revealed in chapter 266 of Jujutsu Kaisen, because he intends to integrate portions of Sukuna’s soul and body into his own using the Reverse Cursed Technique.
While Yuji may not physically replace Sukuna’s fingers with his own, sewing their souls together could result in him developing similar qualities to the cursed king. This would be a distinct experience from consuming Sukuna’s fingers, as the act of simply ingesting them would allow the King of Curses to evade any repercussions for his deeds.
Ultimately, instead of simply coexisting within one body, every fragment of Sukuna’s soul would be permanently fused with Yuji. The user also addresses potential worries about Yuji being influenced by Sukuna’s malevolence, stating that there is a chance the two souls could merge without rejection and create a more harmonious fusion.
As a result, merging Sukuna’s soul with Yuji’s would cause the King of Curses to transform into the type of person he despises most. He would transition from being a pleasure-seeking and cruel cannibal to attaining enlightenment by combining with Yuji’s untainted soul. This outcome would not fulfill Sukuna’s desired fate after his defeat.
On the contrary, it would be a perpetual torment for him, which would be a suitable consequence for someone of his nature as he would not be able to evade the repercussions of his deeds by simply dying. This theory is supported by the possibility that Yuji’s claimed “ability”could potentially “eliminate”Sukuna.
Despite the potential risks, it is highly probable that Yuji would choose to sacrifice himself as a precautionary measure in this scenario. The danger of keeping Sukuna alive within him is not one that many would be willing to face.
