Yuta’s death in Jujutsu Kaisen could potentially lead to Yuji achieving his Domain Expansion.

After taking control of Satoru Gojo’s body in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 and re-entering the battlefield against Ryomen Sukuna, Yuta Okkotsu may have sealed his fate permanently. Although he was forced to make this decision as a last resort to defeat the King of Curses, it is highly unlikely that Yuta will survive his final battle against Sukuna.

Despite Yuji Itadori’s recent efforts, he was ultimately sidelined upon Yuta’s return in the latest chapter of the manga. This left many fans feeling that his hard work in the preceding chapters had been rendered meaningless.

Despite this, Yuji could potentially become the center of attention once again in the upcoming chapters of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. This is because Yuta’s impending demise may unintentionally lead to Yuji unlocking his Domain Expansion.

Jujutsu Kaisen: How Yuta’s Sacrifice Could Pave the Way for Yuji’s Domain Expansion

The Domain Expansion is widely regarded as the ultimate manifestation of Jujutsu sorcery in Jujutsu Kaisen. Therefore, it is not surprising that achieving it has been limited to a chosen group of sorcerers, including Sukuna, Gojo, Hakari, Yuta, and Megumi.

Nevertheless, the character that fans have been eagerly anticipating to see use his Domain Expansion is none other than Jujutsu Kaisen’s protagonist, Yuji Itadori. Until the current Shinjuku Showdown arc, Yuji did not possess a Cursed Technique or any other supernatural abilities that could match those of the main antagonists in the series.

The fans were ecstatic when they witnessed Yuji using several new abilities in his battle against Sukuna. It was confirmed that he had acquired these skills in the one month leading up to the ongoing showdown.

Up to this point, he has successfully utilized the Reverse Cursed Technique, Blood Manipulation, Simple Domain, and Sukuna’s Cleave attacks. The only ability that he does not possess at the moment is a Domain Expansion, which would greatly increase his chances of defeating the King of Curses.

Despite currently being engaged in a battle against Sukuna while inhabiting Gojo’s body, it is highly probable that Yuta will meet his demise in the future chapters of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. This was foreshadowed in chapter 261, where it was uncovered that Yuta had successfully replicated Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique of body swapping.

Despite Yuta’s ability to use his Copy Technique for only five minutes, he was still able to maintain control over Gojo’s body within this time constraint. However, once the five minutes were up, there was a possibility that he would either perish or remain trapped within Gojo’s body.

However, choosing the latter option would contradict the story’s narrative and undermine Yuji’s hard work in the previous chapters. Furthermore, if Yuta remains in Gojo’s body, the plot cannot move forward. Not only would the merger be invalidated, but the Culling Game would never come to an end.

It is evident that Yuta is expected to succumb after inflicting a considerable amount of damage on Sukuna, potentially paving the way for Yuji to access his own Domain Expansion and use it to defeat the King of Curses.

Despite experiencing the loss of his comrades multiple times throughout the series, Yuji continues to grow stronger each time. With the recent loss of those closest to him, another ally’s death may trigger a necessary awakening for Yuji to unlock his Domain Expansion. With this newfound ability, he could potentially trap Sukuna and relentlessly attack until the King of Curses is ultimately defeated.

Considering Sukuna’s current condition, his ongoing fight against Yuta and the latter’s impending demise could potentially pave the way for Yuji to finally attain the power that has eluded him thus far.
