Mike Ybarra, a former President of Blizzard Entertainment and a key player in Xbox’s leadership team, recently shared his apprehensions regarding Xbox’s direction on X (formerly Twitter).Ybarra expressed his bewilderment at the brand’s identity crisis, emphasizing the need for clarity and focus.

“Tough to see Xbox confused about who it is and what it should be, ”

His comments were directed at the controversy surrounding the new handheld initiative, which has drawn mixed reactions from the original creators of Xbox. Ybarra underlined his willingness to support the team while stressing the necessity for decisive action.

In response to a user’s inquiry about the brand’s future, Ybarra defended the notion that Xbox must establish a clearer identity to thrive, especially if it aspires to transcend its status as merely a gaming console. He proposed that Xbox should concentrate on becoming the “world’s largest publisher of entertainment content.”

“Get rid of everything else and get focused. Do not be afraid to say what you are. Embrace the lane.”
