During his performance of the popular 2002 song “Practice,”Andy Lau encountered an unforeseen mishap. As a result, the singer found himself sliding on his knee towards the unprotected edge of a platform that was four meters high. Witnesses observed him precariously teetering on the brink, with nearly half of his body dangling over the edge.
Fortunately, he was able to stop in time and did not sustain any significant injuries.
The situation was quickly shared online through photos and videos. This led to comparisons between Andy Lau’s circumstances and the tragic incident in 1993 involving Beyond’s Wong Ka Kui. The singer had fallen to his death while filming for a variety show in Japan after a three-meter-high stage fall.
Unfortunately, this was not the only unfortunate incident to occur during Andy Lau’s concert. On another occasion, while accompanying a female dancer to an elevated platform, Andy Lau unintentionally stepped onto the moving platform as the dancer was descending. The platform started to lower, placing Andy Lau in a dangerous situation.
Fortunately, he had the ability to respond promptly and successfully stepped backward.
On July 6, during a concert, Andy Lau apologized to his fans for startling them with a dangerous move he performed the previous night. He explained that he did not anticipate the stage to be so slippery and expressed his regret. He hoped that his fans would forgive him for not being careful and assured them that he would take better care of himself in the future.
After receiving numerous pleas from fans on his Instagram, Andy Lau has decided to refrain from performing any risky stunts in his future shows. It seems that he has heeded their requests, as his recent performances no longer include the dangerous move.
Additionally, the performer was reminded by netizens of his 2017 accident, in which he suffered pelvic injuries during a commercial shoot and had to take a six-month hiatus.
