Apink’s Hayoung Reveals Reason For Drastic Weight Loss
Korean news outlets reported on April 28 that Apink had appeared on the popular variety show “Knowing Bros,”which had been broadcasted the previous day on the 27th.
Despite Apink’s overall noteworthy appearance, it was one particular moment during the episode that became the center of attention for K-media. The group also took the opportunity to celebrate their 13th debut anniversary and reflect on their journey together throughout the years.
“Chorong shared that despite how quickly time has passed, working together as a team is still enjoyable for us.”
Eunji continued, “In my opinion, each individual possesses a unique personality, yet the connection remains present.”
During the conversation, the “Mr. Chu”performers reached a consensus that Hayoung had undergone the most noticeable transformation in terms of appearance. In a YouTube clip, Hayoung also disclosed that she had shed 13 kgs.
Hayoung explained her motivation for shedding pounds, explaining that it had been a personal insecurity for her while collaborating with her fellow bandmates. She went on to mention that the one positive aspect of promoting as a solo artist was not being constantly compared to the physical appearances of her group members.
“The positive aspect of being a member here was that everyone was slimmer than me, despite my tall stature. Constantly being compared to the other members motivated me to lose weight and be able to fit into smaller clothing,”Hayoung revealed.
She remarked, “It’s a relief to not be compared to others while performing as a soloist.”
Hayoung then proceeded to share an incident that only added to her feelings of insecurity. She recalled the moment she caught a glimpse of herself in a group photo taken during an interview.
“Hayoung remembered feeling surprised when she came across a particular photo from an interview we conducted in the past,”she recalled. “Sitting in front, I couldn’t help but notice how much bigger I appeared.”
Chorong recalled how Hayoung had become reluctant to take the center or front position, stating, “Following that incident, Hayoung refused to stand in the center.”
“Hayoung noted that she became the tallest member of Apink, despite being only 169cm. She added that she appeared larger when standing next to her fellow members.”
Meanwhile, Namjoo decided to praise Hayoung, saying, “Even though I am 165cm tall, she has an excellent body proportion.”
