Despite the abundance of collaborations and remixes in the music industry, ATEEZ, a popular K-pop group, faced controversy surrounding their recent release, “WORK. Pt. 2.”
The addition of Dutch DJ Don Diablo to the remix had fans eagerly anticipating an exciting continuation of the group’s comeback album, “GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1,”and its hit single, “WORK.”
Despite the initial excitement, the situation quickly sparked controversy as fervent fans, also known as ATINYs, expressed their dissatisfaction with Don Diablo’s purported connections to Zionism.
The DJ’s previous show in Tel Aviv, Israel, and his admiration for the city sparked a wave of disapproval from individuals who advocate for Palestinian rights.
The timing of the backlash is particularly poignant, as tensions in the region were already at a heightened state.
The ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict has once again been brought into the spotlight due to reports of increasing violence and casualties in the Gaza Strip.
Based on recent statistics, the number of fatalities in Gaza has now exceeded 36,000, while more than 80,000 Palestinians have been affected by injuries or displacement.
The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 36,000 since the war began. At least 36,050 people have been killed and 81,026 injured in Gaza since the war started, which does not distinguish between civilians and combatants but says the majority of the dead are women and children.🔥

Zionism, a political ideology that supports the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine, has been a topic of great controversy.
Critics claim that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians is tantamount to apartheid, a claim that is fiercely disputed by both Israel and its allies.

Despite this, Israel has faced allegations of apartheid from prominent figures in the global community, such as human rights groups.
As a result of Don Diablo’s affiliation with Zionism, a grassroots movement has arisen among ATINYs, urging for a boycott of the collaboration.
Atiny! This is an official call to action! We are BOYCOTTING this remix! Don Diablo has shown support for Israel and that’s NOT OKAY! Please take time to email KQ about this! If anyone is willing to make a template (in eng and kor) I can link it below after I review it! -🧸 https://t.co/lCFTQYg8X0

One fan of Ateez, @dulcenocandy, was disappointed with the collaboration and expressed their feelings by saying, “As Ateez’s message revolves around resistance and standing up against oppression, this collaboration falls short of expectations.”
The sentiment highlights the conflict that frequently arises in the world of entertainment between artistic expression and political beliefs.
