BLACKPINK Pushes Comeback to January 2026

On November 6, a report from Maeil Business Star Today revealed that the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK has postponed their highly anticipated comeback, previously set for this year, to January 2026. This strategic delay aims to ensure the highest quality of their forthcoming release while also accommodating their ongoing world tour schedule.

Initial Comeback Plans and Current Status

Previously, various media outlets reported that BLACKPINK was gearing up for a comeback in mid-December. However, YG Entertainment clarified the situation, stating, “No official date has been set, ” while confirming that the group has completed filming their new music video and is in the final stages of album production. This suggests that a return may still be on the horizon.

Historical Context and Future Prospects

BLACKPINK last released a full album, BORN PINK, in September 2022. If their upcoming album launches in January 2026, this will mark over two years since their last full album release. Their most recent single, “JUMP, ” hit the airwaves in July 2025.

In recent times, the group has focused on individual projects, with each member enhancing her individual brand and presence in the global music scene. Despite this, BLACKPINK has been busy on their DEADLINE world tour, which commenced in Goyang. Notably, they made history in August by becoming the first K-pop girl group to headline a solo concert at the famed Wembley Stadium in the UK.

Having debuted in August 2016, BLACKPINK is on the verge of celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2026. With the impending January release, fans are eagerly awaiting what could become one of the most monumental comebacks in the group’s history.
