BLACKPINK Kicks Off “DEADLINE”World Tour Amid Fan Complaints

On July 5, BLACKPINK launched their highly anticipated “DEADLINE” world tour at the Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea, marking their first full concert in almost two years. This event was met with excitement, but some fans expressed dissatisfaction with their concert experience.

Issues of Visibility Despite Pricey Tickets

Concertgoers who purchased tickets for the N3 section, priced at 132, 000 KRW (approximately 97 USD), faced disappointment as a large screen obstructed their view of the stage. This section was marketed as having an unobstructed view, unlike the less expensive “restricted view” seats available for 99, 000 KRW (about 72 USD).The unexpected installation of a large screen in front of these premium seats left fans unable to see the performance clearly.

Fan Reactions and Complaints

One fan, identified as A, took to social media to share their frustrations: “I paid for a 132, 000 KRW ticket in the N3 section at Goyang Sports Complex and couldn’t see anything. They said the view could be blocked due to structures, but the stage was entirely blocked. I was so angry. Fireworks and drones were completely blocked, and I could barely see anything!” This post resonated widely, amassing nearly 120, 000 views and over 700 retweets within a short timeframe.

Another concertgoer, B, expressed similar concerns, stating, “Where can I report this? I was so frustrated that I couldn’t focus on the concert. I had reserved a seat in the second row, but it turned out to be a complete waste.” Fans also criticized the venue’s response to such complaints, with A remarking, “I didn’t come to watch a movie; I came to see BLACKPINK! When I complained, they just kept repeating that it was ‘clearly explained beforehand.’”

A Rising Chorus of Discontent

As fans rallied together, many shared their own grievances online. Comments included sentiments like, “I was in N11, and as soon as I entered, I saw the screen and thought, ‘What was this setup?’” and “I was in the 7th row of N3, and it was so absurd. I had no idea there would be an obstruction, and now I’m wondering where I can file a complaint.”

BLACKPINK’s Global Tour Continues

Despite these complaints, BLACKPINK‘s “DEADLINE” world tour continues to captivate audiences, with plans to visit 16 cities worldwide. Upcoming stops include major urban centers such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
