On June 9th, Liberty Times, a Taiwanese newspaper, reported that during Korean drama ‘Lovely Runner’ actor Byun Woo-seok’s fanmeeting, which was attended by thousands of fans, there were some sasaeng fans who appeared.
The report revealed that sasaeng fans went to extreme lengths on the day of the fanmeeting to follow the actor. They booked over a dozen cars and even rented the hotel where Byun Woo-seok was staying. In an attempt to locate the actor’s room, they pressed all the elevator buttons on each floor, causing discomfort for the actor and frustration among other fans.
Following the fanmeeting, a large number of fans gathered at a hot pot restaurant for an after-party. Byun Woo-seok’s appearance and personal thank-you to the fans became a hot topic of discussion.
On the 8th, Byun Woo-seok had a fanmeeting at Taipei University Sports Center and spent a wonderful time with his Taiwanese fans. Before the fanmeeting, the actor also hosted a live broadcast that drew in a whopping 260,000 viewers.
Byun Woo-seok expressed his nerves, stating that he was about to have his first Asian fanmeeting in Taipei. Despite taking a deep breath and smiling, he admitted that the thought of finally performing his first live show still made him very nervous.
Byun Woo-seok clarified the rumors about using an AI robot to respond to fans’ comments. He personally stated, “It was not AI, I personally sent the DMs each time,”showcasing his dedication to connecting with fans. He stressed, “It was not a robot, it was me, Byun Woo-seok.”
As he prepared to wrap up the live broadcast, he expressed, “I am quite anxious, but I wanted to connect with you all before the fanmeeting. With only 20 minutes remaining, I will try to stay composed for the time being.”
