On June 11th, INB100 issued a statement reiterating that the press conference the day prior was meant to bring attention to the issue of SM taking 10% of individual artists’ earnings, a violation of the initial contract. They made it clear that this matter was separate from EXO’s future group activities.
According to the statement, the press conference was conducted in order to discuss SM’s unjust request for 10% of CBX’s personal earnings, despite not fulfilling their verbal agreement of a 5.5% distribution fee for digital sales. This issue is unrelated to the continuation of EXO’s group activities. Fans can rest assured that CBX will remain committed to participating in EXO’s activities under SM.
It was previously stated by INB100 that SM had violated the verbal agreement by requesting 10% of CBX’s total earnings from their individual activities, instead of the agreed upon 5.5% distribution fee.
On the contrary, SM claimed, “The main issue at hand is the unethical manipulation of our artists by MC Mong and Cha Ga-won.”
This disagreement caused speculation about the possibility of EXO ending their full-group activities. Since the launch of their 7th full-length album “EXIST”in July of last year, EXO has not participated in any group activities.
