On June 5th, the official YouTube channel for tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block”released a pre-release video featuring Chun Woo-hee.
During the video, Yoo Jae-suk mentioned, “The independent film ‘Han Gong-ju’ marked a turning point in the 10th year since your debut.”Chun Woo-hee nodded in agreement and added, “It was a film that we poured our hearts into and filmed without being concerned about the production cost.”
“She stressed the importance of the story, saying, “I was concerned about whether the public would take notice of it due to its weight, but I was confident that our narrative would hold great significance.”
While expressing her deep affection for the character in the movie, she continued, “I felt like my friend and I relied on each other and spent a lot of time leaning on one another. I always wanted to be by her side.”
In 2014, “Han Gong-ju”premiered with Chun Woo-hee as the female lead. The movie was inspired by a true event in which a middle school girl was raped for a year by 44 male students in Miryang, South Gyeongsang-do in 2004. Following her role in “Han Gong-ju”, Chun Woo-hee received the award for Best Leading Actress at the 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards, 10 years after her acting debut.
The identities of the perpetrators involved in the Miryang gang rape were recently revealed by a YouTube channel, causing the public to re-evaluate the incident. Netizens have been sharing their thoughts on the pre-release video of “You Quiz”, with many praising the production team’s impressive vision and being taken aback by the timing of the video’s release.
