Crunchyroll has announced an anime adaptation of Asano Inio’s popular apocalyptic graphic novel, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction. The two-part film, with part one premiering on March 22 and part two on May 24, will only be released in Japan. Asano Inio is also known for his work on Goodnight Punpun.
The highly anticipated series Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction will be available to stream starting May 23, 2024 at 8:00 PM PT. The 18-episode season will be released weekly, showcasing never-before-seen footage that was not included in the theatrical release.

The production studio behind Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction is Production +h, renowned for their work on the anime The Orbital Children. Tomoyuki Kurokawa, who directed the PSYCHO-PASS series, is at the helm of the anime. Additionally, the team includes Reiko Yoshida, known for her screenplay work on Violet Evergarden and A Silent Voice.
The talented voice actors bringing the characters of Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction to life include Lilas Ikuta, who is also known as ikura and is a singer-songwriter and vocalist for the popular music group YOASOBI. Ikuta will be portraying the character of Kadode Koyama. Additionally, Oran Nakagawa, known for their role as Mem-cho in Oshi No Ko, will be lending their voice to the character of ano.
