The delay of The Final Shape DLC resulted in the latest Season of the Wish having a longer duration compared to the previous season. As a temporary solution, a free update titled Into the Light will be released for Destiny 2.

Just like the other free updates for Destiny 2, Into the Light will introduce a plethora of fresh content to the game, such as new maps, modes, and additional features. Below is a breakdown of everything that will be included in the upcoming Into the Light update for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Into the Light Expansion release date

The highly anticipated release of Destiny 2 Into the Light is scheduled for April 9. It is expected to become available after the typical weekly reset, which occurs at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT. There may be a longer downtime than usual, but we will provide updates as necessary.

Destiny 2’s Latest PvP Maps: Evolving Your Gameplay

Destiny 2’s Into the Light expansion will introduce three additional maps to the Crucible.

  • Cirrus Plaza (Neomuna)
  • Eventide Labs (Europa)
  • Essence (Pyramid Ship)

According to Bungie, these maps will be released on May 7 and will be accessible in a separate playlist upon launch. The purpose of these maps is to offer a more competitive gaming experience.

New Modes in Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 will introduce two additional PvE modes: Onslaught and Pantheon.

The ritual activity known as Onslaught will essentially function as a Horde Mode, where players will encounter waves of enemies in familiar locations from both the past and present. Onslaught is set to launch alongside the release of Into The Light on April 9.

Pantheon, on the other hand, is a boss rush mode where you will encounter Raid bosses in a gauntlet. Unlocking Exotic Missions in Destiny 2 Into the Light

The upcoming release of Destiny 2 Into the Light will mark the comeback of two Exotic missions:

  • The mission “Whisper of the Worm”will be available at launch for the Whisper mission.
  • The Zero Hour Mission for obtaining Outbreak Perfected will be available on May 7.

As expected, this implies that players will be able to craft both of the Exotics by completing the mission. Additionally, these weapons will still have unique perks that can be obtained by completing specific challenges that change every three weeks.

  • Midnight Coup (Hand Canon)

The specific schedule for the six weapons below remains uncertain. Initially, Bungie had planned to release them on a weekly basis until May 21. However, it has now been announced that all of these weapons will be available before April 31, potentially resulting in the release of two weapons per week.

All of the weapons are updated versions, and any that you currently possess will not be updated to these new ones.

All of these items are part of the BRAVE Arsenal and can be obtained by completing a quest from Arcite or by opening Shaxx’s chest, both located at the new hub, The Hall of Champions. They can also be found in Onslaught chests.

In The Hall of Champions, the new hub, Shaxx will have his own set of rewards and quests, including the Superblack shader as a rank unlock.
