There is a possibility that BIGBANG member G-Dragon has hinted at his upcoming solo comeback!
G-Dragon made an appearance at the “Innovate Korea 2024″talk show on the afternoon of May 5, 2024, which took place at the Ryu Keun Chul Sports Complex located on KAIST’s main campus in Yuseong District, Daejeon.
The talk show included appearances from G-Dragon, Choi Yong Ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, Lee Kwang Hyung, the president of KAIST, and a representative from the student body. Prior to the show, G-Dragon had been designated as a visiting professor at KAIST’s Department of Mechanical Engineering for a two-year term. During this time, the BIGBANG member will be delivering lectures on leadership to the university’s students.
G-Dragon’s response to the question about the future of entertainment technology was, “I believe I should prioritize performing first.”
The artist elaborated on his response, remarking that even during his most recent performance, he utilized advanced technology. However, with the constant advancements in technology, there are numerous possibilities he wishes to explore and incorporate into his performances. He believes he should first perform with these technologies before seamlessly integrating them.
During the show, some students inquired about G-Dragon’s upcoming comeback plans, a highly anticipated topic for many. In response, G-Dragon humorously quipped, “I actually came here to ask that myself. Maybe if you can create an algorithm, I’ll finally have an answer.”He then playfully brushed off the questions from the students, saying “I was just kidding.”
The speaker responded with a short comment and continued to remain cautious about revealing any specific plans for a comeback, saying, “Soon, soon.”

On January 1, 2023, G-Dragon announced his plans to release a new album. In June, YG Entertainment announced that G-Dragon’s contract with the company had ended, but they were still in talks about potential advertising opportunities. Eventually, on December 20, he officially departed from YG Entertainment.
On that very day, Galaxy Corporation announced their signing of G-Dragon and revealed that the idol would be making a comeback in 2024.
G-Dragon’s most recent musical release was the mini-album “Kwon Ji Yong”in 2017, while his last release with BIGBANG was the single “Still Life”in 2022.
