Disney considering revival of beloved cult cartoon

Rumors have been circulating for years, but could something finally be in the works for the beloved Disney cartoon Gravity Falls? According to recent reports, fans can remain optimistic.

If you were to ask someone if they have a desired TV show to be brought back, they would probably have a lot of options in mind. One show that has been eagerly anticipated for a comeback is Gravity Falls, the beloved cartoon from Disney that first aired in 2012 and concluded in 2016.

Despite the show only producing two seasons, fans were left wanting more and for years, rumors have swirled about a possible reboot. Recent reports suggest that “conversations”about a reboot are taking place, potentially putting an end to the speculation.

The streaming service, according to The Direct, remains optimistic that Gravity Falls will receive the return that many believe it deserves.

Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television Meredith Roberts stated that they are currently in talks with Alex Hirsch, who is working on a book project with Disney. She also mentioned that they are producing some shorts. She added that one should never say never, leaving the possibility open for a potential revival of Gravity Falls.

In 2015, Hirsch announced online that Gravity Falls had come to its “natural conclusion.”He also stated that the show was always meant to be a limited series, telling the story of one unforgettable summer with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

“Numerous shows either continue indefinitely until their initial appeal fades, or intriguing mysteries are cancelled before they can be resolved.”

Currently, both seasons of the show are available for streaming on Disney Plus. Meanwhile, Hirsch has been writing his book and working on other stories related to the series that have not been televised.

It’s not surprising that Roberts’ remarks have sparked speculation again, but opinions are split on whether a third season of Gravity Falls would be successful.

“A Reddit user commented, “If Alex has an idea, count me in. But if it’s just for the sake of it, I’d rather not see it happen.”Another user agreed, stating, “I would only be on board if he has complete creative control and is allowed to do his own thing.”

“One person chimed in, “Why not ruin a perfect ending?”while another added, “Some things are better left untouched.”

Despite the possibility that Gravity Falls Season 3 may never materialize, it is likely to be quite some time before it does. Nonetheless, it can be confidently stated that this is the most hopeful update fans have received since Hirsch’s last post on Tumblr.
