The Esports World Cup is not only hosting a massive summer tournament, but it is also awarding billions of dollars to a chosen few esports organizations from different parts of the globe.

The initial announcement for the program stated that only 28 teams would be selected. Nevertheless, the program has been extended to incorporate two more teams.
Out of the total 30 teams, 22 were directly invited to participate in the program while the remaining eight had to submit applications. According to EWC, there were more than 150 esports organizations that applied for the program.
Despite being club teams, these groups will not receive direct invitations to the 19 esports tournaments at EWC. Instead, they will have to compete in the same qualification process as all other teams.
