EXO’s Potential Cancellation of Winter Album Due to CBX & SM Conflict

Insiders in the Korean music industry revealed on June 11th that SM and EXO had previously arranged to release a group album earlier this year and had also discussed their promotional plans.

This upcoming album will consist of songs that capture the essence of the season, rather than showcasing intense performances. In particular, the track “The First Snow”was a fan favorite and made a comeback on music charts. This song was originally released by EXO as part of their winter album.

Despite the members’ solo promotions and individual activities in the first half of the year, there have been no discussions about a winter album. Nevertheless, the possibility of releasing a winter album was still considered.

Despite the plan being in motion, it is facing increasing challenges. On June 10th, CBX members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin held an urgent press conference to address SM’s unjust actions, refute the company’s allegations of interference, and announce their plan to take legal action against the company.

After CBX made statements, SM promptly released a statement denying them and emphasizing, “We want to clarify that MC Mong and Cha Ga-won were responsible for tampering with the artists in all of these incidents.”They also implied that they would pursue legal measures.

The dispute between EXO-CBX and SM arose last year and resurfaced during CBX’s recent press conference. As a result, EXO is unable to schedule any group album meetings this winter until a resolution is reached between the two parties.
