Who is Bombsight? The latest episode of The Boys Season 5 has introduced us to an intriguing character with a storied past alongside Soldier Boy, portrayed by Jensen Ackles. This new development is part of the expanding universe of adaptations from the popular comic, which includes a forthcoming spinoff series. Be warned: spoilers lie ahead!

This season has already brought in several new supes, such as Teenage Kix and Maverick. However, the main storyline revolves around Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), and their allies as they devise a plan to eliminate Homelander. Their solution has led them to seek out a menacing virus designed to selectively target superheroes.

To protect Butcher, Starlight, and Kimiko, the team embarks on a mission to find old vials of V1, the original super serum developed by Frederick Vought, which will render them immune to the virus.

Unveiling Bombsight: Key Player in the Upcoming Spinoff, Vought Rising

Bombsight is a distinctive military super who was created using the same V1 serum that transformed Soldier Boy. Strikingly portrayed by Mason Dye of Stranger Things fame, Bombsight is set to have a significant role in the upcoming prequel series Vought Rising. While he hasn’t made his debut in Season 5 yet, Episode 4 serves as a pivotal introduction leading into the new spinoff.

This new drama is set in the 1950s and follows various superhero factions within the military, establishing Bombsight as the air force’s designated supe, identifiable by his military attire. He will be joined by Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo. Furthermore, Aya Cash will reprise her role as Clara Vought, known to some as Stormfront, under her codename “Liberty” in this new narrative.

As discussed by MM (Laz Alonso) and Frenchie (Tomer Capone), Bombsight is among the original supes developed by the infamously unethical scientist Frederick Vought, granting him immortality due to the V1 serum, a fate shared by Soldier Boy.

While Bombsight has yet to appear in The Boys Season 5 Episode 4, it’s expected that he will be introduced in forthcoming episodes as the search intensifies for the V1 formula. However, hints of his struggles with addiction, evidenced by the leftover heroin in the safe found earlier, suggest that he may be a complex and unstable character.

As we await Bombsight’s introduction in The Boys Season 5, don’t miss our insights into Gen V Season 3, and check out more compelling television offerings this month.
