G-Dragon Addresses Controversy at His “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR”Concert

On December 12, G-Dragon took to the stage at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome for his highly anticipated “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Ubermensch]” concert. During the event, he confronted controversy directly, posing a question to the audience: “Were there any parts today that might’ve caused controversy? If so, I’m sorry.” He expressed his sincerity, adding, “Even if there were, I ask for your understanding.”

In a bid to lighten the atmosphere, he humorously noted, “I’m just doing my best. Don’t be disappointed. It’s been 19 years, and if people are still finding controversy now, even I’m shocked.” His open acknowledgment of feedback demonstrates his desire to connect with fans despite the challenges he faces.

When a fan enthusiastically declared, “You were perfect!”, G-Dragon responded humbly, stating, “It wasn’t perfect. There are many performances I personally feel disappointed about.” He reflected on the evening, admitting, “I’m not saying today was flawless either. I just try my best every single day. It depends on the condition I’m in. But today? It was okay. I’ll give it a like.”

Notably, at his concert in Goyang earlier in the year, he arrived 74 minutes late, resulting in an uneven show that drew significant backlash. He later explained the delays, citing severe weather conditions: “It rained, hailed, and snowed. Everyone was freezing. We tried hard to prepare the stage and equipment, but even machines freeze when it’s that cold.”

At the recent 2025 MAMA Awards on November 29, held at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium, G-Dragon once again appeared to have difficulty with his vocals, missing high notes and struggling mid-performance, which raised concerns among fans regarding his well-being.

In an unexpected act of humility, he left a thumbs-down emoji under a video of his MAMA performance, a move many viewed as self-deprecating humor. This gesture illustrates his ability to balance self-reflection with public scrutiny.
