On June 6, 2024, the spoilers for chapter 262 of Jujutsu Kaisen were released, unveiling that during their training with Ui Ui’s cursed technique, Gojo and Yuta swapped souls in order to teach Yuta the fundamentals of utilizing Limitless.
The chapter spoilers also revealed that the intense battle between the two strongest beings continued as their domains clashed. However, the King of Curses had some hidden tactics and employed domain amplification to counter the Honored One’s Infinite Void technique.
Despite spoilers revealing that Yuta had come prepared to the battlefield, the focus of the chapter was on the fact that he and Gojo had already exchanged souls. This was done so that Yuta could gain a better understanding of Limitless and how to use Infinite Void, despite Gojo’s confidence that he would emerge victorious.
Please be aware that the following article may contain spoilers for chapter 262 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo and Yuta’s Soul Exchange Before the Shinjuku Showdown of the Strongest
Based on the leaked details of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, the chapter will open with the confrontation between Gojo Satoru’s Infinite Void domain and Ryomen Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine domain. Despite its smaller size, Infinite Void proved to be a formidable opponent against Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine during their previous battle of the strongest.
Despite Sukuna’s brain being on the verge of fatal damage, Yuta believed he could defeat him in their domain battle. As the master of jujutsu knowledge, Sukuna was able to alter the barrier of his domain expansion and limit its range in order to counter Infinite Void.
During the battle, Yuta (Gojo) had planned to contain Infinite Void for three minutes. However, Malevolent Shrine’s timelapse surpassed the three-minute mark, causing Yuta to face a difficult situation. Additionally, Sukuna attempted to eliminate Yuji and Aoi, who were within his domain, but Yuta was able to defend against him using his Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue.
Through the use of Domain Amplification, the King of Curses was able to close the gap between himself and Gojo and deliver a punch to Yuta’s face. The chapter concluded with a heartbreaking panel of Rika, the Queen of Curses, grieving over Yuta’s lifeless form.
In addition to the clash between these dominant forces, chapter 262 spoilers also unveiled a flashback that took place before the Shinjuku Showdown arc, specifically during the Perfect Preparation arc. In this flashback, Gojo and Yuta utilized Ui Ui’s cursed technique to exchange souls.
Ui Ui’s cursed technique allows him to switch the souls of two different individuals within a month’s time. Yuji’s soul was initially exchanged with Kusakabe and Yuta. Later on, Yuta, who had already swapped his soul with Yuji once, traded his soul once again with Gojo.
This action was intended to demonstrate to Yuta the inner workings of Limitless and how to utilize Infinite Void. Just as Gojo had acquired the ability to counter Sukuna’s domain during the battle between the strongest, there was a possibility that Yuta had also learned how to counter the Malevolent Shrine by observing the intense clash between Gojo and Sukuna.
However, since Limitless could also be manipulated through the Six Eyes, which were only possessed by Gojo Satoru, Yuta had to undergo training in order to safely utilize his cursed technique. Unfortunately, this training proved to be in vain as Gojo Satoru ultimately perished in the fight against Sukuna.
Final Thoughts
Despite the King of Curses appearing to have the upper hand in the ongoing battle, the sorcerers are in need of a game-changing move to defeat Sukuna and surpass him in their cursed technique duel.
With Rika completely revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, the next chapter may showcase an epic showdown between the Queen of Curses and the Honored One, as they join forces to take on the King of Curses.
